As South Florida's premier ballet company, MCB offers dance masterworks that appeal to patrons, strengthen their cultural aptitude, and expand the repertoire and access to outstanding dance. Its dancers come from major companies around the world and renowned training facilities. The dancers continue to be hailed by national critics, featured on the covers of dance magazines, and have won prestigious awards for their outstanding artistry. While considered a pre-eminent interpreter of Balanchine's choreography, the company also performs pieces by artists such as Jerome Robbins, Paul Taylor and Twyla Tharp. MCB's respected reputation enables it to bring exceptional ballets and choreographers to South Florida, including critically-acclaimed world premieres by the in-demand Alexei Ratmansky (Russian-born artist-in-residence at American Ballet Theatre) and emerging artist Liam Scarlett (artist-in-residence at the Royal Ballet). The impressive repertory features 95 ballets, including 12 world premieres. MCB performs in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Naples, has toured to more than 100 U.S. cities, and has performed internationally.
