Indomania

Indomania, a secret amongst locals and a destination for visitors in-the-know, is a feast to behold and partake. With its eclectic blend of Indonesian spices and textures from the Dutch colonial past, Indomania offers a rich menu of authentic specialties ala carte and traditional family style "Rijsttafel," (translated, "rice table") with up to 16 different dishes for two or more to share. For starters sample the fricadel jagung (corn cakes with chili/lime dipping sauce), martabak, (crispy dough wraps filled with ground lamb), sate ayam, (grilled chicken on skewer, and other sates) or gado gado, (salad with string beans, cabbage, tofu, fried onions and a light peanut dressing). Move on to entrees such as sambal gudang (shrimp with peteh beans in coconut sauce), sateh ayam (grilled chicken skewer with peanut sauce) or nasi goring (boiled egg in curry sauce). Savor ayam opor (boneless chicken in mild coconut curry), smoor djawa (slow cooked beef in kecap - Indonesian soy sauce), rendang padang (beef stew in thick, spiced coconut sauce), and pepes ikan, catch of the day grilled in a banana leaf. From sweet to savory to spicy and cool, masterful dishes please every palate from vegetarians to seafood lovers and all things in between.
