The Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center invites you to experience the Fifth Annual Heritage Dance Collective, a celebration of diversity, inclusion, triumph, and resilience through dance.
Event Details
Inspired by the Akan Tribe of Ghana’s proverb, “It is not taboo to go back and fetch what you forgot,” this performance explores the importance of history in understanding ourselves and improving the world. Highlights include Robert Battle’s renowned piece, The HUNT, performed by the Winds of Heritage Dance Company. This dynamic work reveals the predatory side of human nature and the primal thrill of the hunt, brought to life through the powerful movements of an ensemble of men in an urban setting.
