This summer, for the very first time, you can do science with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and NASA from your own home! The discoveries we make this summer may benefit generations of future astronauts.

This summer, for the very first time, you can do science with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and NASA from your own home! As part of the Growing Beyond Earth team, you will grow plants in the same type of garden the astronauts use on the International Space Station (ISS). The discoveries we make this summer may benefit generations of future astronauts.
Join a nationwide team and help discover new ways to grow food on Earth and in space. Wherever you are this summer, you can create your very own space garden and bring us closer to exploring the solar system.
Three age appropriate program sessions:
Emerging Explorers (ages 7-11) Daily 10am-11am, Q&A sessions 1pm-2pm
Young Scientists (ages 12-16)Daily 11am-12pm, Q&A sessions 2pm-3pm
Families (Great for all ages, including adults)Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm-5pm
The family sessions will introduce a range of guest speakers, including explorers and scientists, including experts from Fairchild and NASA.

Interactive Online 6-week Program
Program Registration:Fairchild Members: $500 Non-Members: $600
Plant Growth Chamber Equipment (required) Rental: $50 Purchase: $500

This is class will be taught online using ZOOM (https://zoom.us/), a FREE online video conferencing platform. All you need is a computer, internet access, a webcam, and a microphone. Details and login information will be sent prior to the class.
