Coral Gables
About Coral Gables
Best known as the home of the University of Miami, Coral Gables is a well-kept bustling region just southwest of Miami. An antique trolley system originally ran through what is now the commercial district of the area; however, since 2003 there has been an updated circular trolley system installed which keeps the region pedestrian friendly as well as attractive. Spanish is actually just as widely spoken as English in Coral Gables. The Hispanic influence is also the main reason for the districts cultural pride. Gables also has a creative atmosphere. Theaters, art galleries, museums and unique lounges and restaurants can be found all over the area and are busy both day and night. A few popular venues include the Westin Colonnade, Sushi Maki and Hofbrau Bar and Grill. Not far from downtown Miami, Coral Gables is a pleasing area for daytime fun or an entertaining evening.
